Child and Family Therapy--I believe that childhood should be a time for healthy growth and development with a happy family. For many children and adolescents, it is a time of great emotional stress. Children react to stress in many ways including withdrawal and acting out behaviors at home and school. In working with families, I have discovered that one person is rarely to blame for family difficulties. Instead the difficulties come from unsuccessful interactions between parents and children. I help families find new successful ways to interact which result in improved behavior, structured and organized households, improved communication, and closer relationships.
Play Therapy--My mission is to encourage the unique development and emotional growth of children through the process of play therapy, a dynamic interpersonal relationship between a child and a therapist trained in play therapy procedures. Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Play utilizes play, children's natural medium of experssion, to help them exprress their feelings more easily through toys instead of words.
I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, play therapy and beyond.
